Abbreviated for Alkyl Ketene Dimer, it is used to improve paper�s surface condition, reduce paper machine breakdown, and to provide water resistant properties. This chemical reacts with the hydroxyl group of cellulose to form b-keto esters. AKD Neutral Paper Sizing Chemical is a waxy emulsion that disperses in the water that is stabilized by cationic starch or polyelectrolyte agent.
