Cationic Polyacrylamide is used as a flocculant to bridge suspended particles together by covalent bond, can reduce fluid friction, and thickens sludge in wastewater. It is a linear polymer of monomer units having amide as functional group. This compound is mixed with sewage in liquid form and gets absorbed by surface suspended particles. Having high dehydration rate, Cationic Polyacrylamide finds its use in alcohol industry, beverage processing, sugar factory, and tanneries. To enhance its characteristics, it can be used with inorganic coagulant.
